Brewing Flowering Tea

The best way to enjoy flowering teas is in a glass teapot but if there isn’t one handy, you can use a French press or even a warmed up pint glass. To get the best results from flowering tea: use hot water just off boiling, steep for three to four minutes (or until the tea has fully flowered) and then serve. These teas can be reused five or more times, depending on the variety and the drinker’s strength preference. The ‘flowered’ tea remains open; to re-use the tea, simply refill the teapot water and set to one side. Since flowering teas do not stew as quickly as normal teas, they can be left in the pot to enjoy visually. These teas make a great centre piece at parties, afternoon teas or just for a little treat.
